Overview of Corporate Treasury and Intraday Liquidity Management

Treasury / Chief Investment Office (T/CIO) is responsible for firmwide asset and liability management, including managing the firm’s funding and liabilities, establishing funds transfer pricing policy, aggregating and managing the firm’s liquidity and interest rate risk, and managing the end-to-end risk weighted asset and capital measurement processes. The Intraday Liquidity (IDL) Management function sits within North America Treasury. The IDL team oversees the end-to-end intraday liquidity management framework and optimizes cash infrastructure. It partners with the Treasury Funding, Liquidity Risk Oversight, Liquidity Management and lines of business to develop and manage the intraday liquidity framework, and develop and maintain the IDL dashboard to support that management function. The IDL team will also be responsible for executing the Cash Asset Strategy, with the objectives of improving account data quality, strengthening controls and standardizing operating model for cash accounts across the firm.

Role Description

This is a role at Associate level in the Intraday Liquidity team within T/CIO, based in NYC.

The candidate will be a member of the IDL team in New York, supporting and contributing to targeted projects to enhance the firm’s capabilities with regard to the management of intraday liquidity, as well as the execution of the Cash Asset Strategy.

The role requires an interest and some understanding of the business, risk and operational processes required for liquidity management and will involve collaboration with colleagues in Treasury Funding, Line of Business Treasury teams, Firmwide Balance Sheet and Liquidity Management, Finance and Controllers, Liquidity Risk Oversight, Wholesale Payment Operations, Cash Account Management and Technology teams.

These partner teams, and the IDL team, are globally distributed therefore the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with remote stakeholders and contributors across time zones is essential.

The specific roles and responsibilities include:

Develop strong partnerships with lines of business to understand the end-to-end processes of transactions and to identify risk and opportunities from an Intraday Liquidity management perspective

Actively engage in the implementation of specific NA- or LATAM-focused projects and enhance the Intraday Liquidity Dashboard and support the continuing development of the Intraday Liquidity management framework in both NA and LATAM

Support management in the planning and prioritization of Intraday Liquidity and Cash Account Management technology initiatives

Perform analyses and develop analytics tools on the IDL Dashboard by leveraging historically intraday data to facilitate the development of intraday liquidity stress assumptions and better understanding of drivers of intraday liquidity trends

Support the execution of the Cash Asset strategy, including but not limited to analyzing existing standards and operating model around cash and nostro management, and supporting the implementation of the target state operating model on various business use cases

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in the treasury or finance in the banking industry

Attention to detail and motivated to learn and master operational and technical details

Strong quantitative and analytical skills

Strong project mindset, able to identify solutions and execute to conclusion

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with partners across the firm

Be organized, self-motivated, driven and able to work individually and collaboratively

Strong MS Excel and MS Powerpoint skills

Experience with SQL, Python or similar programming language preferred
