Institutional Infrastructure Solutions (IIS) is a new business unit that provides world-class service to Morgan Stanley’s institutional clients including Multi-Family Offices and the Graystone business. IIS supports clients in partnership with Morgan Stanley’s Fund Services infrastructure, an outsourced Wealth Management OCIO, the client’s MS Financial Advisor, and WM Operations. IIS specifically supports all client service model execution processes including Client Onboarding and Maintenance, Money Movement, Asset Aggregation and Accounting, Billing, and Client/IO Reporting.

The Investment Specialist provides proactive support to Investment Officers, while providing world-class customer service to our institutional client base. The Investment Specialist is responsible for understanding Firm policies, procedures and digital capabilities that will allow him/her to interact with Investment Officers, as well as new and existing clients. The Investment Specialist enhances the client experience by seamlessly executing portfolio changes including trade execution and money movement based upon direction from and Investment Officer. In order to perform daily business activities, the Investment Specialist is required to have active Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) Licenses.

Role Responsibilities

Work with client on the execution of orders in Brokerage and Advisory accounts for Morgan Stanley custodied assets as well as outside custodied MS-assets

Proactively evaluates and upgrades platforms for the Portfolio Management Group and maintains all hardware; implements decisions by using the multiple trading platforms

Complies with all industry rules and regulations and Firm policies

Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and other materials for client meetings

Facilitate and implement portfolio changes based upon partnership with the Investment Officer

Facilitate and execute money movement across Morgan Stanley, Funds, and 3rd Party Custodians based upon direction for an investment officer or client

Research and resolve position, cash, and pricing breaks associated with daily portfolio accounting processes performed by Morgan Stanley Fund Services

Support investment officer and clients with reporting and analysis as required

Review daily portfolio NAV process and escalate issues as appropriate

Actively engage in available training and education programs to maintain current status on policies, procedures and risk awareness

Work across multiple lines of business and operation departments to resolve client issues

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

College degree preferred

5 or more years of industry experience preferred

Active Series 7, 63 and 65 (or Series 7 and 66)

Experience with multi-family offices and institutions required

Experience supporting clients with multiple custodians required

Additional product licenses may be required

Detail oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

Exceptional writing, interpersonal and client service skills

Team player with the ability to collaborate with others

Strong industry, product and branch procedures knowledge

Experience working with multiple third party custodians for one client

Experience with portfolio accounting processes

Knowledge of applicable compliance rules and regulations and firm policies

Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data

Self-motivated / self-starter with excellent work ethic

Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
